Came in quick time. Guitar itself was what I expected for $200. Had to fix the pick selector switch as it wasn’t contacting as intended. Also did a full fret level, file and polish as well as make a few other adjustments including decent strings to get it to play nice. A few blemishes in the finish but nothing was damaged during transport as it was well packed. Not unhappy with the purchase as I intended to do this work anyway. Out of the box it was playable, just not perfectly.

Challenger is preassembled DIY kit with substandard finish. No serial no./date of manufacture. Email Axiom asking what tonewoods used in body & neck, they literally don’t know. Fretboard not rosewood as described, appears to be purpleheart. Razor sharp fret ends, seriously uneven frets, & poor nut make it unplayable without comprehensive setup. Only suitable as project if you have tools to do own setup. Not worth cost of luthier. Not for new music students. Better value alternatives: Cort, J&D.
