Built like a tank. Although somewhat large for a field watch, it is comfortable to wear. The bracelet is quite solid with thick, stout pins. My only criticisms; the lume on the hands and face does not last all night even when charged with bright light, the watch does not have a hacking feature and the bracelet "squeeks" a noticeable amount. Otherwise, this is a good watch and is an excellent choice for someone looking for an inexpensive automatic field type watch.

Love it! One of the most underrated watches in my collection: -4 s/d, lume to the moon, and a striking, well-balanced, functional dial...

Nice, simple yet elegant face that's easy to read. Glow elements retain an impressive glow for a long while. Band was easy to adjust and fits comfortably. The watch I've been wearing for years is a Seiko automatic with a canvas band. As I've gotten older, the smaller face became harder to read. This one fixes that without being excessively large.

Beautifully finished stainless steel case with skeleton back and attractive black dial make this a wonderful addition to my collection

For a entry-level automatic it keeps perfect time and at 42mm it wears very comfortable, the build quality was better than expected.. except for the steel bracelet isn't the best quality "squeaky and cheap" but @ $86.00 😮 I can't complain so I swapped out to leather strap or a Bond (black and gray) NATO.. that it's screaming out for !.. in summer months, i will be buying the Green version shortly, at the price point you can't go wrong, an excellent Buy in my opinion, would recommend this Seiko 5 field watch, as I'm a collector (50+) it's a good "bang for the buck" !!
