Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the Nintendo Gamecube is truly a great game. The control style is exactly the same as the original Metroid Prime so you wont be spening any time learning the new controls. There are a few different beam weapongs you can get in this game, dark and light matter gun, and this gmae also offers the screw attack as originally seen in Super Metroid. There is even something called the annihilator beam! The main difference though is that the game is split into two worlds (light and dark). You have to travel between the two to unlock doors, acquire items and solve puzzles. Basically it's the same idea of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past if you've played that game. One thing overall I'd say about this game compared to the original is that it's a lot harder. The difficulty of the puzzles in general aren't too bad, but being that it's two seperate worlds in one, that makes it harder. Also the bosses are a lot more difficult. When you get to the last leg of this game, the enemies (robots) are quite hard to beat, some of them needing three super missiles to take down, and your timing has to be exact or your shot will do no damage. The graphics on this game are absolutely amazing, you won't be dissapointed on that score. Also, not a Metroid game since Super Metroid for the SNES offers as impressive music which conveys an ambience of being in a creepy situation/environment. You will recognize some of the tunes from the Metroid games of old too, which I find pretty cool. I think any gamer playing this game for the first time, it would be fair to point out one thing also: There is one last thing you must do before going on to the main boss to beat the game, you have to get 12 keys to unlock the last door and they are scattered throughout the entire game and all 12 are in the dark world inside a creature you cannot see without using a special visor. You can look for these creatures on your own but be aware it will take you a long time to do so. This is probably one of the hardest and frustrating elements to this game, after you've gone through so many trials and tribulations to get to that point and now you have to go on a wild treasure hunt. It's not too bad though. Find the ones you can and look up the rest online if you're getting overly frustrated. There also is unlockable content, photo galleries of rough drawings trying to show the development of the game. I honestly find this extra not to hold much water, but that's just me. You can unlock these extras by scanning a certain percentage of scannable objects just like the original, from creatures, to items, and lore. This game also offers a 2 player mode which is actually quite good, if you have a buddy or two or three to duke it out (you all will play as Samus). But yes, another impressive Metroid game from the long standing series from Nintendo. This game is definitely worth your time, just buckle up for a long arduous ride.Read full review
I remember playing this back then and hating it, but when I got the Metroid Prime Trilogy for sale on the Wii U, those doubts faded away. Beautiful looking game and the soundtrack is also my favorite. THEY EVEN REMIXED BRINSTAR. The theme is light and dark and the switch between light & dark worlds can be challenging, unlocking new abilities and weapons, too Being I played the Wii version, the controls on that console are PERFECT. I don't know how it plays on the GameCube yet, but hopefully it is not that much of an issue. Buy the game anyways and add it to your GameCube collection!

The gameplay is very similar to the first metroid prime. You play as Samus. Your abilities are taken away at first but you work to gain them back throughout the game. This leads to increasingly difficult gameplay. Metroid fans and collectors of nintendo stuff will appreciate the experience.

I love the Metroid series. Been fan since I was a kid. Love Samus Ridley and the space pirates. My only thing about this game is finding the temple keys. That kinda ruins the exploration but other than that it's a excellent game. Everything arrived brand new not a scratch or anything. Will recommend. 😀👍:-)

These games are one of the best games for the Gamecube, they're very atmospheric, and challenging. Before playing them I thought they were just FPS, but from the moment you play them you realize they're not, they're First Person Adventure games, the gameplay is great, the enviroment is incredible and so is the music. All the puzzles and gameplay in general surprised me. If you're looking for some retro games, I totally recomend Metroid Prime 1 & 2. I rated the graphics as "Good" considering they're from 2002 and 2004. The gameplay is excellent, they're really enjoyable and challenging games, one of my favorite series for the Gamecube, I totally recommend them
