These speakers are great value for money. The speakers themselves look fantastic and have a great quality feel. whilst floor standing they don't take up a lot of lounge space and are definutly wife approved. The first time I listened to these speakers I thought they were lacking a little on the bass side. After about 5 mins of listening I realised that first impressions are not really important. These are amazing. What I thought was a lacking in bass was in fact the removal of the boomy sound that is not on the original recording anyhow. it's just somethign I'd become accostomed to with teh old system. The bass sounds are low and clear and the trebble is perfect. Mid range is also not dissapointing and nothing feels left out. The speakers are very directional. there is quite a small sweetspot. Not a problem for me as I happen to sit in it :) but others have commented that in my room 14ftx20ft it's not as wide as you'd expect. This is probably true. You can definutly hear a perfect stereo image from a limited area of the room but if you sit outside of that it's still a very accomplished sounding system and will not dissapoint any purchaser. Having run a Home Cinema company for a number of years I never shy away from Kef speakers for HiFi listening. If you were going to use these speakers for a home cinema setup then I'd be tempted to get an additional subwoofer. Not due to any problem with these speakers but mainly due to the holywood obsession wtih shaking the room.Read full review
