If your laptop has died as a result of a Blue Screen of Death, a fatal BIOS error, a chip socket burnout or other internal hardware error, a new motherboard may be the best answer to the problem. The PEW71 LA-6582P motherboard is a solution to BSoDs in compatible Acer Aspire 5742 laptops, and possibly some Packard Bell and Gateway models. It’s a mini-ATX board that can replace a broken BIOS module, chip connection or other essential hardware. The Acer PEW71 supports Intel processors. These are Intel CPUs that fit into the 988 socket: the Mobile HM55 Express category of chipsets. More specifically, the PEW71 LA-6582P motherboard supported the Ibex Peak, or 5 Series, subcategory of these. Therefore, you may be able to support or upgrade your old chipset with a new PEW71 LA-6582P motherboard. However, this may depend on the cache levels (2, 3 or 4) supported by the original CPU. The board also supports Intel integrated graphics, or the graphics associated with the CPU. The 5 Series also support familiar features from your existing laptop, such as PCI Express, integrated Gigabit LAN and WLAN capabilities. It also supports DVI and VGA display standards, if applicable. Many 5 Series CPUs also support Intel HD Audio. The LA-6582P has two slots for 1333Hz DDR3 RAM. Their combined maximum capacity is 8GB, so keep this in mind if buying new sticks. The Acer PEW71 LA-6582P also has all the ports of the original laptop, which include an HDMI port, which allows you to control external displays. It also has two USB type 2.0 ports. The AcerPEW71 LA-6582P motherboard also supports the connections for all the peripherals included in your original Acer Aspire laptop, such as the display and keyboard. It also supports the Serial-ATA hard drive types found in your laptop. The AcerPEW71 LA-6582P is also compatible with Windows operating software (up to Windows 7). It also includes the audio and video chips necessary to support the same media consumption possible on your original machine. Needless to say, it also includes a BIOS module. This Acer PEW71 LA-6582P motherboard is an ideal solution for Acer Aspire 5742 laptops that have suffered a blue screen of death. This replacement hardware may be for you if you want to keep your Acer going rather than go to the trouble of shopping for a complete replacement. This may be more cost-effective and economical than buying a whole new laptop. The Acer PEW71 LA-6582P motherboard includes all the ports and connections necessary to get a compatible computer working again. They can also revive certain Packard Bell or Gateway laptops. Alternatively, it could form the basis of an interesting, original self-build, provided you have a suitable case.
