Top Roof Rails for my Kuga Mk11
Easy to fit . Put them together on the floor then just bolt them into place. The bolts provided were 4 long and 4 short - Infact, I needed 6 long , so luckily had a couple of suitable bolts in my shed that I could use. 4 of the bolt holes in the roof were covered by mastic and paint, but once I had pushed through the mastic , and used one of the bolts I had taken out to " clean" the thread of the bolts I had uncovered, the bolts went in ok. The kit comes with some sealant to ensure there are no leaks. Its then just a matter of cutting the original ( aluminium) trim to size, applying the double sided tape provided in the kit and clipping back on. The only concern is the end caps provided, they clip on but are not secured by any screws. They seem to be Ok , but I would have preferred a ... Easy to fit . Looks fab but bolts a bit tricky
If you fancy “pimping up” your boring Kuga this is a great item that will make it look far better. It does have seams where the rail meets the bolt on units (the photos make them look seamless) but does look a quality item. My roof had 4 threaded bolt holes available but I had to drill 4 extra holes. You don’t drill metal but an obvious plastic dimple. However 2 of the extra bolts wouldn’t thread into the metal sleeve below the roofline - supplier offered to pay for replacement bolts. I’m a fussy customer, but the roof rails do look good after fitting them to my Kuga. The instructions are almost are pretty hopeless, it talks about sticky pads to hold down old plastic trim, there were no sticky pads supplied. One important thing about fitting; My car had all 8 holes pre drilled, but only 4 were threaded, I had to buy a tap and die set to cut an M6 thread in four of the holes. Not difficult, but good to be aware you may have the same issue. On the whole, happy with the roof rails👍I’m a fussy customer, but the roof rails do look good after fitting them to my Kuga. fitting was a doddle days loca main ford dealer wanted 527 pounds supply and fix i done mine took roughly 90 minutes so i saved my self 307 pounds and lets not forget the 1 PENNYthank you very much aneurin richjards
