    Amusing, engrossing and exciting!

    This is the 2nd book in this series. It is now 1351: the Great Plague is over - life is beginning to get to normal. Then in court a man claims he has seen a monstrous bird called 'The Butcher Bird' - he is deemed to be mad and locked away for his own protection! THEN there is a murder! A baby girl is found dead - impaled in a bush. Oswald starts to investigate but gets nowhere as the people won't talk about it! THEN another baby girl is murdered - impaled in a blackthorn bush. The mad man, John Barrow, is accused of doing these things. Oswald must find out the truth in order to save him and reveal the true facts. Then the facts are revealed - he is dealing with people he knows. He is not sure what to do but must act and decide soon. There were some unexpected twists and turns, red ...
