    Good value for the money

    Let's face it, most quality low speed sharpening systems are quite costly. Over the years I have spent a fortune avoiding taking the big plunge to a complete but pricey system. Wish I had found this one first a long time ago. This will be my 3rd bench grinder for sharpening. The first one vibrated so bad I couldn't' use it, the second vibrated a little, but after spending a bundle on a balancing system it worked fine, but was still too fast. This one turns at the right speed, and because of the speed having perfectly balanced wheels is not an issue. I Like the fact that it uses a standard arbor. Overall it works well as a base for a sharpeneing system setup without taking out a second mortgage on the house......

    The daily grind.....

    Big and beefy, quiet, powerful, a huge upgrade from anything I've ever owned. Minor issues include a bit of wobble in one wheel which I can't fully eliminate by re-positioning the support washers as per the instructions (the shaft is true however), and the tool rests are somewhat flimsy plastic which makes precise horizontal alignment and stability difficult. Therefore, I would not rate it as a true professional grade tool but its really nice nonetheless. The "slow speed" aspect works great and seems able to grind thru plenty of material quickly. Mine also included a diamond dressing tool in the box, something you definitely need to achieve great results.

    slow speed grinder

    I'm a new wood turner, trying to learn how to sharpen my tools, with this Rikno 80-805 it makes it easy, no more burning the ends for the tools, runs very smooth and quiet. gread grinder for the money, Thanks John in Vegas
