I placed the plunger cup directly on the piston, added three 3/4"x1"x1/16" thick fiber washers on the threaded portion of the piston (with a light coat of RTV silicone on said washers), then I screwed on the piston cap with check ball. (See attached photo) I also had to put a little Seal All glue on the seam of the piston halves as it was leaking pressure.
