    St. Helens is based on the true story of the most deadly and devastating volcanic eruption in US history.

    Released in 1981, St. Helens offers a retelling of the days preceding the famous volcanic Mount St. Helens eruption, based upon the true story of an 80yr old man who refused to leave his home despite an impending volcanic eruption. Starring Art Carney as the 80yr old Harry R. Truman, David Huffman as volcanologist David Jackson, Cassie Yates as Linda Steele, Albert Salmi as Clyde Whittaker, Ron O'Neal as Otis Kaylor and the brilliant Tim Thomerson as Sheriff Dwayne Temple, the cast is an ensemble of pure dramatic talent. St Helens alongside being an entertaining disaster drama, has a brilliant score by Italian band Goblin, best known for their giallo work with Dario Argento and others... this film is well worth a watch.
