It would not fit due to a mismatched I/O plate which I solved by getting my step-dad to angle grind the metal lip off. Installing the drivers on Windows Server 2016 also proved difficult, but I found a solution. The end result: it works. The card is clearly brand new and it does the job for $25. Thanks!!
