Textured by a fiery violin and a multi-layered guitar, the band is led by Laura's powerhouse vocals. Laura sings with Ani Difranco's tell-it-like-it-is defiance, Alanis Morissette's sheer, clear power, the sultriness of Norah Jones. The result is an audio-shock of emotional truth. 'Step to the Wire,' Laura's third album, contains tracks dealing with everything from politics and social injustice to lost love. The album's title comes from the hard-hitting ballad, 'Blind Trinity,' a searing indictment of the Bush administration's foreign policy. Overall, the album gives it's listener an unforgettable and emotionally charged experience.
