Cooperstown, Otsego and the world
I was born in Philadelphia, but grew up in Cooperstown. I have lived and worked as a children's librarian in Paris, France for over 25 years, but having grown up in Cooperstown -- home is home --and my Dad, Robert Badger Seaver, wrote this wonderful book(just a sampling of his newspaper essays written over 30 years for the local Cooperstown weekly, "The Freeman's Journal".) For anyone interested in the local history of Cooperstown, N.Y., it is a gem, and as a children's librarian and teacher, I recommend it also as a book of essays that are worth reading--my dad was a poet and the poems included are worth the read. One of Dad's mentors was Robert Francis. My Dad was also a teacher of 5th graders(Episcopal Academy, Marin County Day School, Cooperstown Elementary School) but also taught in ...
