    Used AT&T SL82318 Answering Machine with expansion

    Used AT&T SL82318 answering machine arrived on time, clean and compactly packed. I have ahd several of these machines and they are quite good serviceable systems with only one fault - the handset batteries. Batteries last from several months to several years and replacements seem to be spotty in quality. The symptoms of battery failure.are fairly predictable but not mentioned in the owners manual. Battery failure is probably the reason for these systems to be pulled from service or replaced well before their useful life is over. The handsets use a pair of AAA size NiMH cells connected in series. Failure of one or both of these batteries will stop the handset from working properly. Complete failure to charge will set a battery problem display . Unfortunately this is not the most common ...

    Exactly what I needed.

    Charging base is the exact replacement I was looking for. Unit came with a few scratches, but it was not advertised as brand new. Base works fine. Just plug the one end of the included wire into the base itself, and plug the other end of the same wire into an outlet and it's ready to go

    Good machine for the money

    Actually I already have this unit. I bought this one because my wife left the handset on the bumper of the car and drove off. The handset was never to be found again. Puchasing the whole machine was actually less expensive than purchasing just a handset. One thing I learned is you have to deactivate the handset with the base station it came with before you reactivate it with the new. Other than that this machine has decent range and features.

    POOR Backlighting but OK phone/

    Came with no destructions but fairly easy to figure out and it works well. Favorite feature is the speaker phone on the handset. Backlighting VERY POOR so hard to see what's on the screen. Have to use strong sunlight or a flashlight and even then it's iffy

    Best phone ever

    I have used this phone ever since my husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2000. I love the fact that it has a place for clip to be able to clip to my shirt or pants and always have it with me. I wish they had not stopped making them.
