A Novel Glimpse at Existance
The story in the beginning was, for me, somewhat scattered because I did not know what the author was conveying until I realized the sense of it all was in terms of the 'unconditional,' and not the physical world, which is a first for me. Reading a few pages, sometimes only a few paragraphs, I have had to stop because of the need to ponder. As if the ground I stand on had tilted a few degrees. I'd spend my days in a fog as my concepts of what is real becomes less solid. For example, what we think, is reality. The setting of the story is modern, so it is easy to relate to the mental conflicts the main character, Michael, goes through as he tries to make sense of what is going on worldwide as war, climate changes, and riots occur. What is evil and how what is thought as good is bad and visa ... The book is excellent. I would have wanted Chopra to be more intricate in detail, have this book be 500 pages. I am reading it over again after a week of pondering after finishing it. I began the first chapter last night and can see the understanding is deeper already. I can only imagine finishing this book a second time with less unsteadiness. Dayle Tamura
