Cheesy as hell but really funny!
My girlfriend and I watch Spongebob a lot - she was obsessed with finding the episode `Suds', then finally got it. Then came Sponge Out of Water, which she bought, too. She decided to complete the collection with the original movie. Finally I found it on eBay. She's happy, and so am I since we don't have to scour Goodwills anymore to find it. I thought the film was really good. It could have been better, but as a kids movie it does what it needs to well enough. I actually watched it twice at the cinema and about 3 times on DVD so far! it has some really good bits and takes its small screen humour on to the big stage. The only thing I didn't like was Spongebob's voice! it's significantly different from the tv show, but you get used to it over the course of the movie. the fact that it has an all star cast makes it more appealing for adults but kids will enjoy the humour and it has an easy to follow story. there are also some catchy songs! one for the kids and something adults may enjoy watching too!I thought the film was really good. Great movie; heck, it's Spongebob!
I friggin' love this movie. Other than having to see David Hasselhoff's face, this movie is addictive. Amazing coming-of-age story of a young invertebrate trying to save his boss from a frozen fate. Luckily, our absorbent hero pulls it out in the end, with a crushing metal ballad, to save the day! I don't know about you, but it makes me feel like sometimes, the world may become a better place.
