  • Fantastic value for money!!! Great lens!

I was tossing up between this lens and the equivalent Nikon 70-300, read all the reviews and they came out pretty dead even and all of them but for $100 less I went with the Tamron. Now I haven't used the Nikon but I'm very happy with the Tamron. I'm using it on the Nikon d5300 and its awesome! The Vibration Reduction is amazing. Both focus rings are smooth with no travel. The auto-focus is plenty quick enough and quiet! It's not the best in low light but you're not buying this lens for low light anyway so it doesn't matter. I think the most surprising feature though is the quality of the portraits it takes, I am very impressed! It feels solid and really well built, a little heavy but not enough to put you off that's for sure.
