Product Information

This is the first screen version of Bram Stoker's famous tale based on the smash hit stage production. Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi) arrives in London and immediately works to enrapture and transform into vampires young Lucy Weston (Frances Dade) and her friend Mina Seward (Helen Chandler). After he succeeds in turning Lucy, and Mina's health suddenly deteriorates, Mina's father (Herbert Bunston), calls in a specialist, Professor Abraham Van Helsing (Edward Van Sloan). Van Helsing quickly recognizes Dracula's vampirism, and sets about saving Mina (and in the process, becomes Dracula's archenemy). The film, arguably the most influential of the legend's film versions, launched Lugosi's career in horror movies and forever invited vampires across Hollywood's threshold.

Great Movie! Classic!
Major fan of these movies and needed it for my collection. The acting is superb and really shows how talented these actors were and they should get more credit than what they did. The movie is a classic and I love it because it is done very tastefully unlike most modern day horror flicks that are filled with nudity, blood and gore, etc. Because the movie is done very tastefully I am not embarrassed to allow my kids to watch it and have to tell them to close there eyes or look another way because of unnecessary things in the movie(sex, nudity, gore, etc.)Again I am a huge fan of the Universal Monster movies!Major fan of these movies and needed it for my collection. The acting is superb and really shows how talented these actors were and they should get more credit than what they did. This has always been a excellent movie and this one is no exception. There is none that have been made since that even come close.
