excellent movie - great blu-ray reproduction
characters and scenes come to life on this edition. I have seen this movie before so many times, yet it was like seeing it for the first time. kudos to Francis Coppola on a great job with the Blu-ray reproduction. did not notice much of a jump on the audio as much as I noticed on the video quality. you will not regret this purchase or watching this movie again. truly a classic to own and in the best possible format currently possible. Such a beautiful combination. Marlon Brando vs Al Pacino vs Robert Di Nero. All at their best.

The movies are classic, but the picture and sound qualities of these Blu-Ray disks are horrible and a lot worse than DVD or perhaps VHS. By far the worst Blu-Ray disks I have ever watched.

The restoration was OK I guess, More color and better sound but it is still a 70's looking movie, picture is definitely not HD, very grainy and same quality as original movies, guess I expected too much of a restoration. If you don't expect HD quality then yes it was a good restoration, The Godfather will always be a classic. Worth the price if you love the Godfather.

The Excellent Godfather
This "package" of Godfather Videos is complete via the Coppola Restoration, with Godfather 1, Godfather 2, and Godfather 3 included. The fourth DVD explains much of what Francis Ford Coppola did to not only "restore" these three movies, including making sure that all the scenes were complete and eminently watchable. Both the sound and visual quality are excellent in all three choices.
