It is ok and handy, but not new
Well basically I bought this book because I am collecting the WOTC-Stuff from the 3rd/3.5 Ed. - so I had no special expectations on this book, besides that I already knew the "Races of Stone"-Compendium. Similar it compiles Information on Elves and Halflings which are not new, but somewhat traditional and spread throughout different campaigns and sourcebooks. From this point of view the book is creating some value - but still if you have decided for a campaign world which was not created by yourself, you will not really need it.
