bought as a present, very good film. person i bought it for had been after it for a while so when i saw this deal thought that this was the best deal.
Body Double.Having bought the video VHS version of this film way back in 1985.I paid rather a lot to upgrade,to a DVD.The picture Has improved as you would expect. But the sound still remains the same at Dolby 2.0 Stereo.Which is rather disappointing.Considering the wonders done on films made way back before this was filmed. The story however is the familiar Brian De Paima masterpiece of sexual thriller murder.Deborah Shelton is the beauty here.Although some would say it's Melanie Griffith. The hot darling of the era.Frankie Goes To Hollywood perform their hit 'Relax'to the backdrop of a sexy photo shoot. All in all glad to own the DVD version.Would have given this film the 5 stars it deserves, had more work been done on the transfer to DVD.Would still recomend it though.
This is a Brian De Palma film which means its going pretty unusual. Unfortunately the plot is extremely hard to follow, and the actors(i.e Melanie Griffith, and all) seem to being going through the motions. Story: An actor in B Movies is fired on the set set of his latest vampire movie, and gets home to find his wife making love to another man.He leaves home and finds himself in the local Bar to drown his sorrows. He finally meets a guy who just happens to have a Penthouse available(He is looking after it for a friend who's away!)with a telescope.Every night he sees through the telescope a woman performing a striptease. He follows her to try and meet her and chases a thief who steals her handbag. Still in touch with the plot?.She is then murdered while he watches in horror whilst looking through the telescope again. He vows to find the killer!. I won't give away anymore, and it may be this is a masterpiece and I just can't see it so if you like Brian De Palma's work you will probably find it enjoyable, but to me not his best by a very long way!.Read full review
