Das simlockfreie Samsung Galaxy Xcover in Scgwarz/Orange stellt die Symbiose aus der Xcover Outdoor-Serie und den auf Android basierenden Smartphones der Galaxy Reihe dar. Das stoßfeste und wasserdichte Outdoor-Smartphone wiegt 116 g bei einer Größe von 122.0 x 66.0 x 11.9 mm und besitzt ein 52 x 78 mm großes Touchscreen-Display aus Gorilla-Glas, das, bei einer Farbtiefe von 16 Millionen Farben, eine Auflösung von 320 x 480 Pixeln bietet. In das aus Kunststoff gefertigte Gehäuse des Samsung GT-S5690 ist ein abgedichteter Micro USB 2.0 und ein 3.5 mm Klinke-Anschluss integriert. Das Outdoor-Smartphone unterstützt Bluetooth in der Version 3.0 und alle gängigen WLAN Standards inklusive WEP, WPA und WPA2 Verschlüsselung. Darüber hinaus ist das Samsung Galaxy Xcover mit einem GPS Modul ausgestattet und einer 3.1 MegaPixel Kamera, die Fotoaufnahmen in einer Auflösung von bis zu 2048 x 1536 Pixeln und Videos in einer Auflösung von 640 x 480 Pixeln unterstützt. Der interne Speicher des Gerätes kann mittels Micro SD oder microSDHC Speicherkarten in einer maximalen Größe von 32 GB erweitert werden. Der 1500 mAh Lithium-Ionen-Akku des Samsung GT-S5690 ermöglicht es dem Handy bis zu 600 Stunden im StandBy zu verweilen. Die reine Gesprächszeit im GSM Netz beträgt 15 Stunden, im UMTS Netz entlädt sich das Samsung Galaxy Xcover nach knapp sieben Stunden vollständig.
