The Carmageddon series makes its Nintendo 64 debut with one significant change: instead of mowing down frantic pedestrians and oblivious livestock with your souped-up vehicle, you are instead running over zombies. The year is 2026 and an airborne virus has turned most of the population into the walking dead. As daring driver Max Damage, you agree to enter a death race that allows the world government to clean up this problem while providing some entertainment to the survivors. Over 30 levels are available to race through, including some exclusive to this cartridge version. Choose from 23 different "slaughter mobiles" to drive and collect power-ups scattered on each course to enhance your vehicle's armor and engine. In addition to the single-player campaign, Carmageddon 64 features three multiplayer modes for you and a friend.
