    Another Great King Kong Movie

    Well folks, if you like King Kong movies then you will like this one. The only drawback is the actor Samuel Jackson. It seems like he is in every movie that I watch. The rest of the movie has action, good special effects and I think overall likeability. I would recommend it.

    Probably the most realistic King Kong ever

    It may seem strange to put the words REALISTIC and KING KONG in the same sentence, but if you accept the premise of a giant ape and isolated natives on an uncharted island, then yes, this version is probably the most realistic. When Kong rises out of the swamp, he's muddy. He behaves like a gorilla who has gotten used to living in proximity with humans; in other words, since there are no other gorillas around, he protects and defends humans (and other animals) living in his territory. He doesn't fall in love with human women, or attack humans for no reason; but when strange humans come to the island and attack him, he fights back fiercely. I was impressed by how real this Kong appears; he never looks like a robot or a CGI effect. He is HUGE, and remains the same size at all times, an improvement over other Kongs who seem to change size in relation to the humans in different scenes. All the action is confined to Skull Island, a wise move, since many critics felt the Jack Black version was too long...and though I understand WHY someone would want to take Kong to New York, HOW they successfully did it seemed improbable. If you hate remakes and maintain that the original King Kong is unsurpassed, then you will dislike this version because of the many changes in the plot. But if you judge it on its own merits, you may enjoy this action-adventure.
