    Awesome cast iron fryer - great quality!

    Awesome cast iron fryer! Great quality. Cool gator cast on the lid. I've used it several times for bread making and it works beautifully. Looking forward to camping and slow cooking with it using coals on the lid, Caja China style! It's big but fits easily into my 24" wall oven.

    Very bad quality

    The item arrived promptly but... The lid would not fit properly as the lid lip was convex. To add insult to injury, the two sides of the fryer were concave preventing the lid from going all the way down. After 3 hours of grinding, I finally got the sides opened up enough for the lid to fit and got both edges leveled so it fit flush with no wobble. Folks, I don't recommend buying one of these if you want a tight fitting lid. Since I am going to bake baguettes in it, a tight lid is what you are looking for to keep moisture in. Needless to say, after all the grinding, it had to be re-seasoned and that so far has taken two days, three separate baking's in a 450 oven for 3 hours each. I think I should have returned it but you can bet if I ever buy Bayou Classic again, I will!

    Great for bread

    Great Product. I'm using it to bake sourdough breads and have found that I can bake 2 x 600 gram sourdough batards in it very well. Also great for Baguettes too. Love it!

    You can't beat cast iron for baking bread.

    I received the well-packaged parcel in a reasonable amount of time, so kudos to the seller, but the dutch oven itself is amazing; it has transformed my baking to another level. Trust me, cast iron is the way to go and this baby is big enough for whatever you have to bake. Due to it's long oval shape, I can actually put a full size loaf pan inside it for sourdough, but there's enough room for two boule-style loaves side by side if you want to go that route. It's very well made and I'm now a big fan of Bayou Classic cast iron, right alongside my venerable Lodge round dutch oven.

    Fish fryer

    I really like Bayou Classic cast iron cookware I have many of their pieces. I really wanted this 6 at oval fryer, it is somewhat lighter walled than the rest of the pieces I have.
