Very solid phone. The only Samsung upgrade with a 1080p screen for my A10e, for under $500
This was to replace my Samsung A10e. Still getting used to the larger phone but now its really jsut the same size as everyoen elses. This is still on the light side at 195g vs other large models. Good size for such a large 6.6 inch screen. The bezel is about as tight as it can be for 6.6 inches so its just the screen size. Also a 1080p screen is nice option for budget phone. This is the only 1080p screen on a Samsung US phone below, the $500 A53 model. There's not much lag generally, and much better than described in the A13 reviews. This is the non-5G model, the A135, not the A136, which was supposed to be slower. VS the A10e its about the same and the a10e was pretty good. Other differnces: The finger print scanner opens nealry instantly which is much better, as the a10e only had face recognition and was much slower and didnt work in low light. I'm now able to watch native 4k streaming video on the web, before the A10e had no hardware decoder for it, and woudl get "pipeline error". So the newer processor/SOC is better. Bluetooth 5.0 is better, and works better with fitness watch. Supposed to have NFC also, vs the a10e, but ive not tried it yet. Comes with Andriod 12, vs A10e maxed out at Andriod 11, but honestly not really notice the differnce in practice much with the One UI. But will be able to get a few more Andriod upgrades where the A10e is stuck at 11 now forever. Everything else works same as other Samsung A models. All the things are there and work. Summary: If you dont care about the 5G and would rather have the 1080p screen, this is a good deal if you are on a super tight budget and need to buy a phone outright. If you are coming from A10 or A12 (Nacho), this is like a direct plug-in upgrade with all the things. The "U1" model of the SM-A135 is the univesrally Samsung factory unlocked version, like as in SM-A135U1 and con be used with any carrier.
