    Bogey Being Bad is Always Great

    If you are searching for a tightly wound mystery movie for a rainy afternoon, then "The Two Mrs. Carrolls" is the one for you. Humphrey Bogart woos and wins Barbara Stanwyck, all the while leading us down a path of intrigue with Alexis Smith as the "other woman" who just happens to be a little richer than Stanwyck. I thoroughly enjoyed this jewel and saw another side to Bogey's talents as he increased the suspense with his refusing to show the painting until Stanwyck stumbles upon it. The climax of the picture will keep you wondering just who is in on the crime until the end. Once you see the picture you won't need to watch it again--but you probably will want to, just to see where you missed the clues.

    Bogie and Stanwyck

    This should be among the classics. I gave it 4 stars as I just didn't see it as an edge of my seat movie. However, the acting is superb. Stanwyck is stellar, and Bogie does another fine job. I wish actors this good today. If you are a Bogart fan, this is absolutely worthy of your collection. I see this video as a rainy Saturday, or late night treat. The Story line has an excellent realism with that late 40s//50s pizzazz.
