Product Information

The setting is Berlin in the early 1930's. Sally Bowles, a completely impractical romanticist sings at the Kit Kat Klub, as a stepping stone to movie stardom. Brian, a British Language student, arrives in Berlin and rents a room at the Schneider Rooming House next door to Sally. They become romantically involved. Sally's life has a new entanglement after meeting wealthy and handsome Baron Maximilian Von Heune. Based on the Christopher Isherwood's book 'Goodbye To Berlin'. OSCAR - 5 including Actress (Minnelli), Supporting Actor (Gray) & Director (Fosse). (15.04.1996 BMG release has a soundtrack cassette with the video).

    A classic musical with a powerful punch.

    I have known this film for many years - one of the finest musicals ever made, and packing powerful messages about the rise of the Nazis in Germany. I am hoping to introduce it to some of a younger generation.

    Bob Fosse is a god! Liza is daft. York was in it.

    Ordered a DVD of the 1972 award winning movie Caberet. What I got was likely all that is available for an older less popular title. Was slightly disappointed because the aspect ration was last generation as was the resolution. Still adequate and I would rather watch a last generation version than nothing.
