      These books are not well made and all four arrived damaged in one way or another. The tailband on the Hobbit is too short to properly hold the pages together, some pages are stuck together, all books have broken spines, and more than one dust jacket has either feather tears or is not cut or folded properly to fit the book. They were listed as a Brand New item and appear to be either repackaged or factory seconds. They are being returned. Thankfully the seller offers easy to process free returns.

      Quick shipping, no issues at all with seller. Not 100% certain this was brand new in box, since the volumes arrived out of order and there is slight wear on the dust jackets. But given it was listed at 50% what others were asking, I’m perfectly content with the value. Thanks to the seller for the gorgeous books!

      Amazing hardcover set

      Amazing quality books, and a great way to dive back into the works of Tolkien after many years. Alan Lee’s drawings make the experience all the more enjoyable.
