While the game's action takes the form of a color-coded "note highway" that should be familiar to anyone who played Guitar Hero or Rock Band, and the new interface has been designed to be clearer, faster, and easier to use for those who cannot read sheet music, many of the changes in Rocksmith 2014 were made with more experienced guitar players in mind.<br><br>The graduated difficulty settings from the original Rocksmith are gone, letting experienced guitarists immediately jump to the appropriate challenge, and the Session mode finds the in-game band adjusting on the fly as players improvise and jam. Meanwhile, the revamped Master mode lets gamers attempt to take on songs entirely from memory. Plenty of help remains for those who have never played a guitar before, with the Riff Repeater allowing players to focus on specific segments of songs and adjust the difficulty and speed of the music on the fly, while the Guitarcade mini-games return with new activities to help users fine-tune their chords and techniques.

    Great to learn

    I started playing it a few years ago to learn to play the bass. I found it very easy to pick up after a few days. The tutorials will help you break some of the habits that novice players do (and I still do from time to time.) The only drawback for the console version is you will get bored playing the same songs. The PC/MAC versions will keep you interested longer due to the the features of importing and designing your own music. If you can't fix the buzzing through your guitar, there are many online solutions to remedy these common issues. Most seem to revolve around the calibration techniques used for your guitar.

    Packaged and received in good order. Tried game out did not work would not load on machine kept telling me to either clean the desk or disc's no good. Tried another disc that I had and it worked great nothing wrong with my machine.

    Remastered is WAY better!

    I now have both versions of this game, the original from 2011 and the new remastered 2014 edition and let me tell you, the remastered is by far the better of the two. This version you can play either Lead, Rhythm or Bass without having to download content with cost. The songs are amazing. I love this version!

    Rocksmith Rocks

    Bought this for my brother. I've got it on PC. I played for 15 years then got married. Quit playing for the 29 years. Now I wish I'd had it long ago. Might have never marrried. I've read a lot of reviews about Rocksmith and RS 2014 and there is little middle ground, people either love it or hate it. I'm a luvver. For most music instructor reviews I've read they generally don't like it(wonder why $$$$$?) except for this one guy recommended it to all his students as a learning aid.

    Can't review the disk, just the cord...

    When my son opened for his birthday, we were disappointed when the game didn't play. Tried on both Xboxes. However, after ordering a new game from another seller, (Not because of seller) the cord worked perfect, and cord was worth the value.
