Epson Print Output is Noticable Jaggy

The Epson LW400 has both a backlite screen and minimum paper watse, this is why I purchased it. However compared to the Dymo LetterTag at the simular price point, has a much better print resolution, with no backlite screen but has paper saving. I then thought I had a partially a defective unit so I went researching on the net and found 2 others who were reviewing the LW400 state that they were unhappy with the print quality. Would I purchase another one, No, would I recommend it, somewhat.

  • Best affordable label printer

Bought this to print labels for UTP cables, switches, DDF's and what not. This is very easy to use. The Printer is very fast and you can label a whole telecommunication cabinet in no time. As we all know - the price of the device means nothing in comparison with the price of consumable materials. You will be pleasantly surprised that the tape cartridges cost around 10 USD and there is a large variety of Epson and third-party tapes that can be used with this printer. There is even a cartridge with a heat-shrinking tube, you can literally print a label, insert a UTP cable, apply some heat and it's like it always was there. All in all a solid 5 star for the price.

  • Great Label Maker

Love the variety of fonts, borders and graphics. Three lines are more than enough. My only desire would be a self-centering option for text when using more than one line. I have to add spaces manually to center text, and even then it's trial-and-error, as you don't really see the alignment until it's printed out.

  • Epson Labelworks LW-400

Easy to use, but would have loved more different fonts and bigger font size than the current biggest option. Also, the screen doesn't show your label in the chosen font and size, so you only get to see it once you print it. But generally a good machine and I like it. Shame Epson discontinued the gold on clear tape though. I tend to use it for home projects and I love using the clear tape so I can stick it over a pretty background, but even the black on clear is fairly difficult to get hold of.
