    Still mesmerising!

We have seen this film a few times but not for quite a few years. It is still mesmerising and a bit haunting. Great story, beautiful pictures and great actors. We have been to Hanging Rock and almost got lost there. There is something you can’t describe, kind of eerie.

    A great mystery spoiled!

What worked was the beautiful haunting pan pipes! What didn’t work was the ’”Directors cut” which .slashed the original movie in the ‘70s to absolute pieces, due to one director. Cast was great-direction, rubbish!

  • Excellent!

I have always loved this movie!, It's full of mystery, extremely intriguing to watch, full of all my favourite Australian Actors and the haunting music throughout the movie is absolutely chilling!, I'm so thrilled to be able to find this iconic movie on DVD, as it was filmed back in 1975, extremely happy with this fantastic purchase!, Many thanks Tracey Burns.

  • As a movie, it was good. As a product(DVD), poor.

Video quality is great. Only draw back is the audio track. The audio output is very low. Had to turn the stereo almost to full blast before you can hear it properly. I don't recommend the new mini series on BBC.

  • Love this film

This is a classic film that I have always loved. Set in the 1900's at a girls boarding school. They go out to the rock on Valentine's Day for a picnic and the girls go exploring he rock, but they don't all come back, a mystery to this day!! Just a great film.

  • A beautifully haunting mystery

Although I had viewed this film when it was first released in the 70s, it was a joy to watch it again and relive those moments of scenic pleasure, great acting, and the haunting notes of the pan pipes. Thoroughly enjoyable.

  • A great piece of nostalgia. Beautifully filmed at a great location.

Hanging Rock in Victoria is the setting for this film and it is complemented by brilliant photography from Peter Weir. The plot makes great storytelling too, with haunting music throughout. Very good acting by a young and accomplished cast.
