      A Great WWII Musical

      When South Pacific played at the movies I was just a kid of 12 & the world was at peace once again between wars. The movie was a pleasant change from blood & guts war movies we were inundated with just a few short years before & who could forget that beautiful, haunting tune, Bali Hai? Don't get me wrong, my hero was still John Wayne & other role models like him & great female leads like Rita Hayworth still lit up the silver screen but who really knew much about any of the stars of S. P. but yet it has become a movie icon. Sure there was & is someone out there who can name them all but I'll bet there are more who have forgotten the glorious stars of the 50's than can remember them. South Pacific will remain a truly spectacular Hollywood great musical for the rest of my life &, I hope, ...

      The dvd arrived new in shrink wrap . Have not viewed the dvd as I am taking it on a future trip to my vacation condo. I am confident it will play fine. I haven't seen South Pacific in many years but remember how enjoyable it was. Hope to share it with my latin american in-laws

      South Pacific is Great

      My Husband had seen this movie, but I had not and I love musicals! I loved the songs and the acting. Most productions of Rogers and Hammerstein I love. Love between different cultures and backgrounds which is wonderful and so prevalent today! A great movie!
