      not precise, but good enough for occasional use

      It took me a few tries to get the necessary cut length figured out, but it is fairly easy to use. Slot is just a bit over sized (in thickness) which allows some movement of the biscuit (before it is glued), but with a little care it is good enough for home projects. I'd rate it as good as the dowel joints I've been using, and a lot easier. My summary: It's an economical option for trying out the biscuit joining method to see how well you like it, but if I find myself using biscuits frequently I'll probably invest in a quality tool designed specifically for the job.
