Correction to ...Battery faulty ...
Correction... I originally wrote ...Replacement battery worked for 10 minutes, allowed music to be played on iPod, but now will not charge successfully. Suspect I have been sent a dud battery. What now? Correction... I have now found out that this model iPod will ONLY charge via Firewire (not USB). I have located a firewire charger and now the battery is fully charged and all is good. Hope this message gets to everyone and apologies to the supplier.Correction... Wonderful playback time, possibly too thick.
Got this for my 30gb 3rd gen. Works wonders. Tested playing music on shuffle at 50% volume, lasted ~12 hours. Much better than the 20 minutes the dying OEM battery was managing. A word of warning. This battery is a bit thicker than the OEM battery. So if you install this and leave the mechanical HDD in there. There will be a tiny bit of bulge on the backplate. So if that is a concern, either find a battery that is thinner than this one (6.41mm) or look into flashmodding it.Got this for my 30gb 3rd gen. Works wonders. Not new, beware.
This was sold as new but only the sticker appears to be new. The rest of the battery had visible wear and tear. When fully charged, the battery lasted about 3 minutes. Seems like a hastily tested 'pull' from an original unit. What a waste.
