Jewel of the Crown -- is India. It about DRAMA -- when East meets West...
A classic mini series. Filmed 1984, and really stands up well -- it has a lot of selve life. SUPERB acting -- and India, as a back drop. I get quite entertained with this mini series on DVDS. It was a GREAT find on Ebay!👍 Four (4) disk, 12.5 hours long -- for only $5.41 total. In GOOD condition too! I am happy owning the DVDs. I will end up by the end of year watching the whole mini series two (2) more time... Indeed!👍 A classic mini series. Filmed 1984, and really stands up well -- it has a lot of selve life. The Jewel in the Crown
I enjoy stories of the British in India. It is such a huge country and the British Raj had such a unique colonial system it is just very interesting to me. This series was done for British TV and is 15 hours long. I think it is very well done, however, I would like the story line to move a bit faster. The characters are what I imagine those people would have been. I simply enjoy this type of historical fiction. That is fictonal specifics and characters that could have really existed. We Americans have no idea how the British colonial system worked and very little knowledge of how they were so successful at it. If you look at most of the 3rd world countries that have gotten their independence from Britain, they were much better off under British rule. But that is not politcally ...
