Notes
Pantera waited until 1997 to release a live album. Considering how brutal and powerful the band had been in concert it was a must they put one out. Certified platinum by the RIAA. (7/97)

  • Pantera CFH R.I.P. DBD

This is one that started it all for Pantera. The first time I heard the riff on the title track Cowboys From Hell I immediately went to the local record store and bought the cassette. That was way back in 1990 when it debuted and have been a loyal fan ever since. This is before the fame and money and before all the BS that comes with it. It is Pantera in their raw form, with Phil still sounding a little Halford-esq and the music still has a little bit of 80's residue on it, but it is still ultra-heavy(last riff on Domination!). If you are a true metal fan, then you NEED this album in your collection. Dime will live forever as long as there is Pantera playing somewhere. And no doubt he is smiling every time you get goosebumps when you hear one of their timeless, true, heavy metal, ...

  • welcome to real metal texas style

What I loved about Cowboys from Hell is first introduced to one of the best metal bands of all time.Yes,I know they're from Texas but no Stevie Ray Vaughn/Zz Top mildew on them at all.The world first got to hear real metal nailing the coffin close all that hairspray vomit of the 80"s while staying away from the early 90's please kill yourself heroin sheik grunge. For some reason the early Pantera calls Dimebag "Diamond" Darrell.Though they messed his name they left his masterful guitarwork alone. And, Phil Anselmo could be a jerk but he's the one helluva vocalist from Pantera,Down and Superjoint Ritual. The combination of everybody in the band works.Though I perfect Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven is one of most rawest Pantera CDs.And,this one is a ...

  • Pantera's first CD that set the standard for the 1990's

This CD is pretty much a classic by now but I it is still an awesome CD! Except for one or two songs this whole CD is filled with the best songs that you could listen to over and over again. True, you could download these songs of the internet for free but it would take you a while to get all the songs in a high quality copy so why not buy this CD for a couple bucks instead? This album sounds a little like 1980's heavy metal but you can hear how they made their own changes and became the best heavy metal band of the 1990's. Awesome songs on this CD!

  • pretty good album from pantera but should've ordered their greatest hits.

had this cd when i was in high school but now these songs seem old. i put cowboys from hell, domination, and the art of shredding on my mp3 player. i was afraid to put cemetery gates on my computer because i was afraid somebody would give me a musical and the woman who died in the song would be my momma since i don't have a girlfriend or wife! if not for that i would've put cemetery gates on there. i guess it's a pretty good cd for the early 90's. had the music from cfh confused with domination but it was cowboys from hell that i was wanting to hear so bad instead of domination.

  • I feel it is pantera's best cd

I bought the cd as a gift for my nephew. I myself don't listed to pantera but have heard all their music. I think this is their best cd and it has some really good songs on it. I rated it as good and not excellent because although it's one of the best cds in its category, I am a power, melodic death, and black metal man. I would highly recommend this cd to anyone who likes this category of metal though.
