I have various fountain pens, including a Lamy Safari that I regularly use and a Lamy cp1 for more formal contexts. But I really enjoy the Pilot Petit1. I carry one both as a back-up and for cases in which I want a finer line than my Safari produces. I have also lent one to a friend so that she could experience writing with a fountain pen for a while. There are two problems to be acknowledged. First, these pens require disposable ink cartridges; there is no reusable cartridge available. That is not surprising, given that this pen is so small and inexpensive, but it will push-up the long-run cost of using one. (Some people modify the barrel, to effectively turn it into a reusable reservoir, but the results seem rather imperfect to me.) Second, the pocket clip can be expected ultimately to break after a few years, and is not practically replaceable. But, again, this is an inexpensive pen.Read full review

The fountain pens are nice and comfortable. The nib is fine-medium and smooth. The inks are bright, good flowing. I enjoy changing colors of fountain pens and inks, everywhere I go - Les stylos-plumes sont petits, mignons, confortables en main. La plume est fine-medium et douce. Les encres sont lumineuses avec une bonne fluidité. J'apprécie de pouvoir changer de couleurs de stylos-plumes et d'encres, partout où je vais.

This is a mighty pen. I use it as an eye dropper pen. Very light weight and smooth writer.
