Bought one new in 2005, with 2×12 speakers for $2,000. Traded it 3 years later as part of a deal for an SLO 100. Big Mistake! Sold the SLO. Finally broke down and bought another 2005 Mesa Lonestar, a 2x12, by winning an auction on EBay, for 800 bucks! Great amp! Extremely versatile. Virtually indesructable! No need to bias. Use EL34s or 6L6s. The most powerful amp I've ever used. Heavy, but it has casters. Highly recommend the Lone Star!

This amp is, without a doubt, the single greatest piece of gear I have ever purchased in my 28 years of playing guitar. Crystal clear chiming clean tones, raunchy slightly overdriven blues tones or saturated gain. This amp does everything and it does it better than the dozens of amps I've played through. The first two nights I had it, I stayed up until 4 in the morning playing because I simply could not bring myself to turn it off.Don't take my (or anyones) word for it. Go to your local MB dealer and play through one of these and you will see that Mesa has raised the bar so high with the Lonestar, that the other guys can only hope to compete with each other for 2nd best. Expensive? Yes.Worth every penny? Absolutely !!!
I bought one of these a couple of years ago. By far, the best sounding amp I've ever owned. It is perfectly suited for blues, classic rock and likely many other genres although the ones I've named are the ones I'm experienced in. It is very heavy to move so the casters help quite a bit. I'd buy a 2nd one to gig w/ as the one I own has a gorgeous maple cabinet and I'm so afraid of scarring it, I seldom take it out of the house.
This is one of the best amps I've ever played and I've played quite a few. I'm impressed with the warmth of the clean and crispness of the amp overall. I haven't used any pedals yet but so far I far I haven't cared too. Great amp.
