It is slow compared to modern cameras, but it has a unique tonal range and quality. Maybe the first digital camera to be considered a classic

The S3 does not hold up to today's standards. It's extremely slow, takes AA batteries, can only handle up to a 8GB CF card (takes cf cards for that matter) and is too slow to focus, especially on moving subjects. What is it good for? Is has great image quality for it's age and is definitely a fun camera perfect for any collection! I have a very large collection of DSLR cameras and the S1, S2 and S3 are by far my favorite to play around with. They have a very unique aspect I can't quite describe to the images you just can't get from anything else. Who should buy this? No serious photographer planning to use it as your main system! I would only recommend this as a novelty or collector piece.

I've had the Fuji FinePix S3 Pro for several years, and just bought my second one. It's a great camera for someone who knows photography. It uses the Nikon F-Mount for lenses, which opens up worlds of possibilities. A little weak in low light, but it's a great bargain for someone who wants to pursue photography. It doesn't have all the latest bells and whistles, but let's be honest: rarely does a still-photographer need to shoot video on his DSLR. I like the large, solid feel of the phone. It's a bit heavier than most, but that reminds me of how solidly it's built. The rubberized texture on the body gives it a good grip and a luxurious feel. Overall, I love this device.
I have the S1, S2, and S5 cameras by Fuji and the S3 is my go to body. The really cool thing about Fuji is all Nikon digital lenses mount on their bodies. Whether you use your camera to shoot family pics or you are using the camera professionally this is an easy to use uncomplicated camera. It gives you the ability to shoot jpg or tif and also the RAW format. Lots of versatility and dependability. I shoot a lot of motorsports and this camera reacts the way you want it too. You have all the control of a manual 35mm and the auto features you need. After five years of bouncing around in my truck the body still cleans up like new and I've not had to have it serviced...this speaks to the durability. Needless to say I also appreciate the price point. Body sells for less than a comparable Canon or Nikon and because you can use the fine optics of Nikon your results are always excellent. You simply won't be disappointed with the S3 Fujifilm Pro.Read full review
I am a Canon shooter I have to Canon cameras 40 d the cannon 7D these two cameras are very good camera image quality is great in the 7D have a good ISO performance in low light but I bought the Fuji s3pro sometime back and the camera's white balance and the colors that it creates is unbelievable has very rich colors and the skin tones are very realistic. Fuji technology and making a sensor like this was a great idea especially for wedding photography I like the S3pro, over my Canon cameras and I'm going to buy S5pro because of its high dynamic range the s3 pro have the high dynamic range are also its recovery is amazing how you can recover the highlights or bring something back from the dark the slowness of the s3 pro is not a problem for me because it makes you slow down and compose your frame so that you get the perfect shot these days things move too fast , we need to slow things down and take more better pictures then Just holding the trigger down and getting 10 frames and only maybe three of them is in focus the S3pro produces gorgeous amazing image quality I'm a professional photographer that have been taking pictures for about 13 years in Fuji s should had continue to make more of these cameras the image quality it's impasse some of the qualities of much higher megapixels of the DSLR world.Read full review
