This controller works well with any mainboards I tried. It show debug info during boot, like drive model and its SATA mode, which is quite useful. I don't recommend to install ASMedia drivers for this controller under Windows 7 x64 in STAHCI mode - they produce BSOD. Storage type drivers are better. This board have the place for two-pin HDD led header on it (the header is not soldered, though). I soldered this header and put there my PC case HDD led wire. There is also led soldered directly to the board, which you could see through the PC case holes. I would recommend this SATA controller as good and inexpensive SATA 3 implementation.

I bought this to run a SATA 6/gbs SSD but because it runs on only one lane, there is too much bandwidth to get full speed (ran at about 78%). My motherboard (Dell T3610) has only two SATA 3 ports (this adds two more) but I got around the bandwidth issue by plugging my mechanical storage drive into the PCIe port and it runs at it's expected speed in this PCIe 2.0 card in a PCIe 2.0 slot. My second SATA SSD plugged into the MB SATA 3 port and now can run at full speed. All good.

Works exactly as it was supposed to. Since enambling my M.2 ports on my motherboard as PCIeX4, I lost two SATA ports on my mobo. This card solved that and I could connect my backup HDD and my DVDR. All good, no drivers needed. Plug and play.

BIOS recognised it immediately. Linux Ubuntu 20.10 found a driver and loaded it. I have not tried the card as a boot device interface, but it sure works with the SATA DVD drive I bought it for. It works in the way I needed it to, so what more can be said about it.

Easy installation required no drivers, works well, just as fast as my onboard Sata III 6Gb controllers. Very Good Value.
