I had a Surface Pro tablet before which is an excellent tablet, so I compare this Dell laptop to the Surface Pro. The Dell has a slightly larger display with excellent resolution, contrast, and color. Both displays are very good but would choose the Dell. I use a bluetooth Logitech keyboard instead of the built-in Dell keyboard. I disabled the Dell keyboard. I just prefer the feel of the Logitech keyboard. I also use a wireless mouse. The touchpad is fine. Just a preference. I think the battery lasts longer on the Dell. Depends upon the settings used. I can take the Dell apart and replace battery, etc. when needed. This is a major project with the Surface Pro as everything is glued together. And you definitely risk breaking the display even when you're careful taking it apart. The Dell has better diagnostics in case something goes wrong. Windows 10 runs well on both computers. Perhaps a little smoother on the Dell. I bought this Dell laptop used but it is like new. No need to spend $1500+ on a top of the line laptop.Read full review

I'll be brief since this review may disappear like my last attempt: be certain that whatever you are planning to run on it will in fact run on it. I encountered what appeared to be driver issues with Windows apps. Gave my fully loaded XPS13 to my son who is a program developer and will put the horsepower to good use... running Linux. That said, one of the most elegant designed and executed bits of hardware I have encountered. I was prepared to love it to death. Two caveats: (1) shrunken keyboard (a function of the thin bezel) requires some adjustment, and (2) the touch screen adds weight and I found it (my first non-phone encounter) a marginally useful novelty.
