Outstanding! I have a Carver Sunfire Ultimate amp that pushes 1400 Watts RMS and is capable of delivering this power with an auditory range which is both above and below what the human ear can hear, with such a low total harmonic distortion that it is also inaudible to the human ear. Audiophile in every sense of the word. When I hooked up the Bose Acoustimass 10 speakers to the receiver, there are two settings. One is for "small" speakers. I selected this for the cubes and it was missing something. I decided to pretend that I was pushing Dahlquist DQ-10's and set the aperture of "large". Not an error at all. The sound filled the room so fully that it was an experience that I could not have expected. My living room was just too small for Dahlquist or Magneplanar. The sound from the Bose is huge and rich by any standard and the size is deceptive. It takes a lot to please me and this system was a complete surprise. I sacrificed nothing with the smaller size except that anyone who hears my system will think that I knew exactly what I was doing when I matched the speakers to my amp. Too beautiful for words. I spent 1/3 of the cost of comparable speakers and still have all of the space in my living room free for "living". A happy wife is a happy life.Read full review
I purchased the Bose Accoustimass 10 Series III speakers primarily because I thoroughly enjoy the other Bose products I already own, and for its great sound in a relatively small package, I converted a spare bedroom into our home theater, and needed great sound in a small, unobtrusive presentation. The existing closet was modified to hold all the electronic equipment, including the subwoofer module. With the closet doors closed, you still enjoy great bass, and have a very clean look with just the large LED TV screen and the Five Bose modules visible. The adjustable satellites are a plus for a smaller area, giving you the ability to improve spatial separation by orienting one half of the satellite to reflect from a wall. The resulting variation in the sound dispersion gives depth and enhances the surround effect. The only drawback to this system is the ribbon connector that runs from the receiver to the subwoofer module. It's length curtails your choices by limiting how far from the receiver you can place it. This is the second Accoustimass system in our home, and we love them. My wife likes them because they are compact and don't really interfere with the decor and of course the great sound is what I look for.Read full review
I have always wanted the Bose acoustimass 10 for my home theatre. I have a 7 year old modest Sony amplifier with 500 watts powering the speakers. Always loved the way the Bose sounded in stores, but have been keenly aware of the criticisms regarding non publication of specs. I love specs as I am a musician and owned a professional recording studio some years back. The comments about "no lows and no highs" could not be further from the truth. This system produces very crisp and clean highs and undistorted thunderous lows. I did find that some of the lows that I would have expected in familiar songs were not super heavy, but when considering that, it revealed to me that my headset and car audio system are designed to exaggerate the bass and not necessarily the intent of the original recording. When I say thunders lows, I'm not referring only to sound effects, but orchestral movements, bass drums and bass guitar. When I set the eq on any system, I purposely tailor the mid ranges down as I do not think that a "nasally" sound is natural, nor what the recording engineer intended, except for special effects. I am fanatical about how audio systems sound and this system DOES NOT produce only mid ranges, it is crisp and clean highs, mid ranges and thunders select lows, just as the audio engineer intended. When watching action movies like Terminator, (which I have watched too many times to count), I hear effects that I never knew were in the movie. FEAR NOT YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED. For a speaker system built in 2002, it still and sounds new. I've always wanted a Bose surround system and I finally am able to get a set. I first heard a similar set up when I was station in Okinawa Japan and loved it. Now I just purchased my first home and it was time to get the Bose. I think I just gotten luck when I bought these from the seller on Ebay. I love them and thank you very much. So crisp and clear for my little living room. Friends can't believe them little speakers are making all that noises when I play music or my movies.
