      Thanks to this part, my player is now a throwaway.

      I ordered this part for my Marantz CD5001 player. As I was installing it I noticed that it didn't quite fit the transport like the original. I removed a plastic piece, destroying it, and sanded/filed the two surfaces until they moved smoothly together. On final assembly I found that the gear teeth didn't meet. So even though the part is of similar design and looks the same, it does not work in my player, and I had to destroy part of the transport to find that out.

      What a deal!

      When I had ordered this I had expected to just get the laser for the Cambridge Audio CD player. When received it was the whole transport with the laser. Took me maybe 10 minutes to desolder the jumper and install. It works like a charm!
