Whats more to say about this CD?Well,it's a very excellent soundtrack to an excellent film. While not as grand as later David Lynch soundtracks,it's still a very good CD.This compliation countains a surreal mixture of Angelo Badalamenti's excellent jazz-mystery score and oldies. You would have to be a fan of Angelo's music or oldies[or the film]to enjoy this CD.If you love the film, don't hesitate to buy this soundtrack. The only complaint about this CD is it doesn't have Bobby Vinton's "Blue Velvet"[what?!!!}but still has Isabella Rosselini's version of the song. The real highlight is the "Lumberton USA" voice track and Roy Orbinson's "In Dreams".Like I said,if you love the film or Angelo's music or oldies, you will love this CD,the only reason it doesn't get a perfect score is that it's not for all tastes like the other Lynch soundtracks.Read full review
Blue Velvet is a 1986 American mystery film, written and directed by David Lynch, that exhibits elements of both film noir and surrealism. The film features Kyle MacLachlan, Isabella Rossellini, Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern. The title Blue Velvet is taken from the 1963 Bobby Vinton song of the same name. The film was strongly acclaimed by critics,[1][2] although initially detested by some, if not all mainstream American film critics. It earned Lynch his second Academy Award nomination for Best Director. As an example of a director casting against the norm, Blue Velvet is also noted for re-launching Dennis Hopper's career, initiating the adult career of Laura Dern, and providing Isabella Rossellini a dramatic outlet that defied her role as a fashion model and cosmetics spokeswoman.
Great soundtrack just like the movie.
