    A Little Confusing At First, But Good, Quick Read

    I was so excited to get my copy of 13 1/2. Not that I was disappointed, but I thought it would be a little more absorbing. The story of Pollyanna is indeed a sad one. Even though she overcomes her childhood torment, she still isn't very trusting of people, police mostly. Marshall Marchand is a tortured soul. They seem to be kindred spirits, each with their own dark secrets, that they keep from eachother, hoping to not ever have to reveal them to one another. Danny Marchand, Marshall's brother, wants to help keep his brother from having to reveal his secret. However, Danny has his own motive for doing so. He wants Marshall all to himself. And Pollyanna is not part of the future that Danny has planned for them. Although it has it's gripping moments, the book didn't keep the pace, ...
