  • Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (

I am interested in psychology, and this is an excellent reference book. More fun reading than anything, because I do have a problem with the danger of "labeling", but it's a great piece of reference if you are careful not to fall into that trap of labeling and "case closed" and if you take it with a grain of salt. Also, again, great reference, especially for contrasting, when taken with the new edition. Not for the easy reader, can be a bit overwhelming unless you know how to maneuver throughout it.

  • The Mental Health Workers Guide

What I love about this book is that it gives you the codes and the diagnosis for a particular disorder. It also explains and differentiates a particular diagnosis from another with a slight variation in the context. It explains the behaviors of a particular diagnosis giving you a visual picture so you can understand what the client is experiencing. This book is excellent and should be an addition to all mental health workers library. I like that I can use this as a reference source for my practice. I often use it as a source of reference on a regular basis, counseling clients helping them to live a happier and healthier way of life. I decided to buy this book because my book was taken and I needed to replace it ASAP. I saw it on Ebay at this great price and had to buy it, it was a ...

  • This reference book is easy to understand and not just for professionals.

I am not a professional but had many psych and sociology courses in college and found them interesting. I lost my DSM III after years of moving and it was in rough shape when last seen so I decided to get another one. The newer edition was slightly different than I recall the old one as being but not sure how spefically and it was easy to navigate through. I am just amusing myself diagnosing some people I knew had issues....ok...even myself. I like the fact it cross references illnesses that might have similar features. Perfect for professionals and 'lay people' with an interest in the field of psychology or mental illness.

  • the price was more than fair.

  • All marked up

The pages were all marked up inside, they said slightly used, it’s been really used, it’s really small print. It’s not worth sending it back though.
