    This is an ingenious and useful tool to have. I bought this along with a Fret Rocker and proceeded to go through all the frets on my guitars and basses.. Unlike a fret file I would think it almost impossible to go to far when talking a fret down.if your careful with this. The grit seems just right to do the job and this sanding bar seems to conform to the fret just enough to where there is no re crowning needed. I simply start at the first fret with the Fret Rocker and move back up the neck three frets at a time marking frets or parts of frets that are high with a Sharpie. Then I take the fret guards supplied with this kit and tape them down to the fret with masking tape and carefully file until the Fret Rocker says I'm good and then I move on.
