Synopsis
Fearless adventurer Dirk Pitt must unravel a historical mystery of epic importance in the latest novel in the beloved New York Times bestselling series created by the "grand master of adventure" Clive Cussler. In 1959 Tibet, a Buddhist artifact of immense importance was seemingly lost to history in the turmoil of the Communist takeover. But when National Underwater and Marine Agency Director Dirk Pitt discovers a forgotten plane crash in the Philippine Sea over 60 years later, new clues emerge to its hidden existence. But Pitt and his compatriot Al Giordino have larger worries when they are ordered to recover a failed hypersonic missile from Luzon Strait. Only someone else is after it, too...a rogue Chinese military team that makes their own earthshattering discovery, hijacking a ship capable of stirring the waters of the deep into a veritable Devil's Sea. From the cold dark depths of the Pacific Ocean to the dizzying heights of the Himalaya Mountains, only Dirk Pitt and his children, Summer and Dirk Jr., can unravel the mysteries that will preserve a religion, save a nation...and save the world from war.

I would say it was as described, but it was actually even better than expected, really lovely item and came very well-packed for shipping. Lots of care taken in the handling for shipping. Price for both item and shipping cost were more than fair. I have a recipe book that came out two years after this one by the same publisher. My grandmother used it as a regular go-to cookbook her whole life & then it came to me & I still use it too. Very excited to now have this companion volume to go with it!

Item as described - though listed as used, but it really appeared like a new item that I could find at a retail bookstore. Item packed without issue upon arriving, it was mailed quickly and it arrived much sooner than expected. The transaction went well. I'm happy with the item, and I would definitely purchase from this seller again.

    Another great Cussler read.

I'm in the process of reading this book now and, in true Clive Cussler fashion (even though it was written by his son Dirk, a chip off the old block!) it keeps you turning the pages and sitting on the edge of your seat. It features Dirk Pitt (senior) and his faithful companion Al Giordino. I can't wait to see how it ends but then again, I hate to bring such a good read to a close. I highly recommend this book, especially for Clive Cussler fans.

  • Like Clive Cussler back from the dead!

After reading Lee Childs brothers preview of the newest Jack Reacher it didnt read the same. I can say that reading Dirk Cussler's book I am glad to say it reads just like the late Clive Cussler and is a great read.kudos to Dirk Cussler a chip off the old block.

  • Dirk Pitt lives!

This is the first attempt (I believe) by Dirk Cussler to write a book himself after his father's passing. He's a little ragged, but then again, so was Clive in his first books.
