Poor new design
Unfortunately this broke the 1st time I used it. I had an older version that I used for many years with no problem. The old version had a long sturdy ridge running the full length of the underside used to clamp it to a workmate etc. The new version however has just two small clips on the bottom, one of which snapped off first time I used it. Don't buy it.
The box is flimsy and not particularly accurate. The clamping mechanism is poor. The saw is cheap, nasty and doesn't make a good cut. I am disappointed that Stanley would even market something this poor, given that they used to have a name synonymous with tool quality. I have managed to make it useable by modifying the box and using one of my better quality saws with it. The saw supplied has gone to scrap metal recycling.
